Mark Robinson, left, and Jim Louk have announced all 251 USF Bulls football games on the radio. Robinson is retiring before the Sept. 1 opener against Elon.

When the University of South Florida football radio broadcast signs on for the season opener in September, it will do so without the voice of color analyst Mark Robinson.

That's unusual because Robinson has been on every USF football broadcast in school history -- 21 years and 251 games.

The school announced Robinson's retirement Friday.

Robinson, 55, says he is looking to spend more time with his family.

"I enjoyed (USF football) because it was from the beginning. I got to grow up with the team. I got to see them in trailers and take steps forward and see the process," he said. "A lot of programs are already established and you just go out there and try to get the kids in. Here was a team that was growing. To me, the most enjoyable part was seeing them develop into a powerful program in college football."

The school has not yet announced a replacement for Robinson, who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1988-93.

Play-by-play announcer Jim Louk has also done every football broadcast and will be back in the booth starting with the Sept. 1 game against Elon University in Tampa.
