Florida led the nation again in boating accidents, deaths and injuries, according to a U.S. Coast Guard survey of 2018 marine incidents.

The Sunshine State had 607 boat accidents last year, resulting in 57 deaths, 297 injuries and more than $7 million in property damage.

One day after a dive boat erupted in flames, killing at least 34 people, authorities are suspending their search efforts for survivors. At a news conference Tuesday, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said the bodies of 20 victims — 11 female and 9 male — have been recovered from the wreckage, while divers are still trying to recover the remains of several other victims they have spotted in the waters near California's Channel Islands.

U.S. Coast Guard members are still on the job, rescuing people and guarding national waters.

But with the government shutdown in effect, they're not getting paid.

The United States Coast Guard seized cocaine with an estimated street value of around $500 million during a series of interdictions in international waters.

Eight boaters were rescued in two separate accidents after their boats overturned along Florida's Gulf Coast.

Another fact-finding expedition into why Jacksonville-based cargo ship El Faro sank in the Caribbean two years ago is set to take place Tuesday, this time in Congress.

With the release of the National Transportation Safety Board’s final report into the demise of cargo ship El Faro Tuesday, the families of the lost crew can close the book on a 30,500 hour effort to figure out precisely how the ship came to rest on the ocean’s floor.

President Donald Trump thanked U.S. troops for their service on Thursday, assuring them "we're really winning" against America's foes as he celebrated Thanksgiving at his private club and provided lunch for Coast Guard men and women on duty for the holiday.

A month after the U.S. Coast Guard released its final report on the sinking of cargo freighter El Faro, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson said he plans to file legislation.

But Nelson isn’t clear on exactly when or what kinds of measures he’d like to see implemented legislatively for a safer shipping industry.

Two years to the day after the American cargo ship the SS El Faro sank in a major hurricane off the Bahamas, killing all 33 people on board, U.S. Coast Guard investigators in Jacksonville made public their assessment of the disaster and called for widespread institutional reforms.

The brother of one of El Faro’s able bodied seamen who died when the ship went down is speaking out after the release of a 200-page report from the U.S. Coast Guard’s Marine Board of Investigation.

Puerto Rico woke up Thursday morning to catastrophic damage and flooding after Hurricane Maria. The major storm roared across the Caribbean island on Wednesday, and the devastation – especially power outages – is island-wide.

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a small plane the failed to show up at it destination along Florida's Gulf coast.

The U.S. Coast Guard says searchers have spotted a "debris field" of items belonging to a family last seen in a 29-foot sailboat off Florida's southwest coast.

The Coast Guard has rescued a former Navy pilot who spent 20 hours treading water in the Gulf of Mexico after falling out of his boat without a lifejacket.

A new report released by the U.S. Coast Guard says more Floridians are involved in boating accidents than anywhere else in the nation.

There were close to 700 accidents and 70 deaths on boats last year statewide.
