The Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force approved plans Wednesday for both Disney World and SeaWorld parks to reopen.

It appears theme parks will soon be welcoming guests in Florida. Local officials approved reopening plans for Legoland in Winter Haven and the Universal theme parks in Orlando.

Disney World has been closed since the middle of March, but that didn't stop a man from camping on an abandoned island at the park.

A 42-year-old Alabama man was arrested on Thursday at Disney World's Discovery Island, telling deputies he was unaware he was trespassing. He called the island a "tropical paradise," according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies noted there were numerous "no trespassing" signs posted.

Authorities charged him with one count of trespassing, a misdemeanor. He was also banned from all Disney properties.

Universal Orlando announced they’re building a new Epic Universe-made up of themed lands and a resort-to the south of its current properties.

A roller coaster derailed at the boardwalk in Daytona Beach, Fla., Thursday night, sending two riders crashing 34 feet to the ground while leaving several others stranded in a roller coaster car, dangling above the ground.

The local fire department says 10 people have been rescued, and six people have been sent to the hospital.

There have been no reports of fatalities, but the fire department could not describe the extent of injuries.

The Daytona Beach Fire Department posted photos and videos of the nighttime rescue of the trapped riders.

Orlando's major theme parks are now offering free bug repellent to visitors as concerns about mosquito-transmitted Zika virus mount in Florida.

If you had medieval Legos as a kid, The Dragon at Legoland Florida Resort is the roller coaster incarnation. And it’s the biggest, baddest, still very kid-friendly roller coaster at Legoland Florida Resort.

Busch Gardens' Falcon's Fury is the tallest free-standing drop tower in North America. Soon enough, people will get the chance to fall face-down towards the ground at 60 miles per hour. Falcon's Fury is the coming attraction of Pantopia--the new area of the theme park that opens Thursday.

“Pantopia is all about doors and keys and you’ll never know where the next door is going to lead,” Busch Garden's spokesman Travis Claytor said.
