Research shows that four in five school shooters tell someone about their plans ahead of time. One father who lost his son at Sandy Hook Elementary visited a St. Petersburg high school on Thursday to teach students how to recognize and report the warning signs.

A week after 17 people were killed at a Parkland, Fla., high school, President Trump hosted survivors, parents and teachers from that and other recent school shooting tragedies for an emotional, nearly 90-minute listening session at the White House Wednesday.

A Brandon woman accused of threatening the parent of a boy killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting because she thought it was a hoax pleaded not guilty Monday and was barred from visiting websites that promote such false conspiracy theories.

Lenny Pozner and his family moved from Connecticut to Florida after his 6 year-old son Noah was killed in the Sandy Hook School shooting.  Pozner had hoped for some peace, but that's far from what he got.

Since his son died, Pozner says he's been constantly harassed by people who believe the shooting never happened. “Hoaxers,” he calls them.

Agreeing to an Associated Press request,  Connecticut authorities have released the 911 tapes of calls made to the police on Dec. 14, 2012, the day a gunman shot and killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Some people want to hear them. Some don't.

But the real question is do they really add anything to the reporting on this tragedy?

The massacre last month at a Newtown, Connecticut elementary school has schools countrywide heightening their security. And that includes Hillsborough County.

Law enforcement officers were present at all schools before students left for winter break and now they are staying until the end of the school year.

Friday's massacre at an elementary school in Connecticut has local officials on alert today.

After 26 people died at Sandy Hook Elementary School, officials in Hillsborough County are putting more law enforcement officers in elementary schools. Most elementary schools don't have a resource officer on campus like middle and high schools do. But deputies will be around this week.
