For everyone who filled up sandbags in advance of Hurricane Dorian and is now wondering how to get rid of them, county officials throughout Tampa Bay say: hang on.

Hurricane Irma's projected path is becoming clearer and state leaders are urging Floridians to prepare for the worst.

Evacuation orders have been issued and shelters are opening.

Tropical Storm Colin Brings Rain, Flooding To Bay Area

Tropical Storm Colin dumped several inches of rain across the Tampa Bay area.

A tropical storm warning and flood watch was in effect through Monday.

Rain totals were expected to range from 4 to 8 inches near the Tampa-St. Petersburg metro area, tapering to 2 inches further inland and to the east.

Rainfall predictions through Wednesday.

As the National Weather Service predicts heavy rainfall in the Tampa Bay area over the next few days due to a Tropical Storm Colin, a number of local counties are taking a variety of measures to prepare for the storm, including making sandbags available to residents.
