TSA Officer Dies After Jumping From Orlando Airport Hotel Balcony

Security checkpoints at Florida's busiest airport were brought to a temporary halt for several hours on Saturday when some panicked passengers rushed past a checkpoint after a TSA officer fatally jumped from a hotel balcony inside the airport.

Florida airports are helping federal workers who aren't getting paid during the government shutdown by offering free food, holding a food drive and opening a food bank. 

Florida's busiest airport is becoming the first in the nation to require a face scan of passengers on all arriving and departing international flights, including U.S. citizens, according to officials there.

A record 43.1 million passengers passed through Orlando International Airport in the past year. The latest data show domestic travel climbed 5.95 percent, with more than 37 million people moving through the airport. International traffic also grew to 5.7 million passengers, a 4.45 percent increase from a year ago.
