Flood Watch Issued Ahead Of Subtropical Storm Alberto

Subtropical Storm Alberto could produce tropical storm force winds, minor storm surge, and inland flooding along portions of the Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday and Monday, according to the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network.

We have compiled a list of Memorial Day events within the Tampa Bay area and across Florida, taking place Friday through Monday. With Subtropical Storm Alberto expected to mean rain for much of the area throughout the weekend, we'll try to keep this list updated with any cancellations or other changes.

Chances For 2018's First Tropical System Now 90 Percent

There is now a 90 percent chance a tropical storm will form in the Gulf of Mexico by Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Up to four major hurricanes could form in the Atlantic this hurricane season, according to the annual forecast from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. Overall, the season will likely be normal or somewhat more intense than normal, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says, with a 25 percent chance that hurricane activity will be below normal.
