Displaced Puerto Rican families who were preparing to leave their hotels and motels on Thursday will get to stay a bit longer.

It’s crunch-time for the Federal Emergency Management Agency as Floridians impacted by Hurricane Irma scramble to meet this Friday’s deadline to register for disaster relief.

Although the mobile centers have packed up and left Duval County, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Friday it’s extending the deadline to apply for disaster assistance.
