The Federal Aviation Administration wants to change the way planes fly into and out of Florida’s busiest airports. It’s part of the first major overhaul of the nation’s air traffic control system in decades.

A newspaper investigation has found that Allegiant Air's planes are four times as likely to break down in flight as those operated by other major U.S. airlines.

A small gyrocopter that a Ruskin postman flew through miles of the nation's most restricted airspace before landing at the U.S. Capitol was "indistinguishable" from other non-aircraft such as a flock of birds, a kite or a balloon, the head of the Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday.

Earlier this year, the University of South Florida Library bought two remote-controlled aerial drones for $1,500 apiece, with plans to lend them to students working on class projects.
