The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida has passed the half-million mark.

With Wednesday's report, 502,739 people have tested positive since the start of the pandemic. State health officials reported 5,409 positive tests since Tuesday.

Deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Florida spiked again Tuesday.

The daily figures from the Department of Health shows the deaths of 245 people were reported statewide since Monday, bringing the total dead from the coronavirus to 7,402.

The Florida Department of Health reported Saturday that 9,642 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 24-hour period.

That brings the total number of cases statewide to 480,028.

According to state health officials, more people died due to complications from COVID-19 since Tuesday's report than during any other 24-hour period since the pandemic began.

It was the second straight day that coronavirus-related deaths reached their highest levels since the pandemic began.

State officials reported the most deaths in a single day from the coronavirus Tuesday.

The report from the Florida Department of Health showed 186 deaths in the state since Monday’s report; pushing the statewide toll to 6,117. The previous single day high was 173 deaths reported less than a week ago on Thursday.

State health officials report Thursday's death toll due to COVID-19 is the highest on record.

The daily report from the Department of Health showed 173 deaths in the state in the 24-hour period since Wednesday’s report, bringing the statewide total deaths to 5,518.

The toll of COVID-19-related deaths in Florida surpassed 130 for the second-straight day Wednesday.

The Florida Department of Health reported 139  people have died in the state in the 24-hour period since Tuesday, bringing the statewide total deaths to 5,345. It was the second-highest number of deaths in Florida since the pandemic began; and five more than Tuesday’s toll. On July 16, 156 deaths were recorded.

Florida closed out another work week of the coronavirus pandemic Friday seeing a record number of infections and deaths.

State health officials recorded the highest number of both new COVID-19 cases and deaths in a seven-day period.

Florida health officials on Thursday reported 156 deaths in the state for the past 24-hour period. It’s the highest number of COVID-19 - related fatalities statewide to date.

Tuesday’s report from the Florida Department of Health shows it was the deadliest day for COVID-19-related deaths since the coronavirus pandemic began.

Health officials reported 132 deaths in the state since Monday’s report. It’s the largest number of deaths the state has recorded in a 24-hour period. The previous high was 120 deaths; recorded on July 9.

Florida wrapped up a historic week during the coronavirus pandemic Friday. State health officials recorded the highest number of both new coronavirus cases and deaths in a seven-day period.

According to figures from the Florida Department of Health, 65,557 people tested positive for the virus since July 3. The number tops last week’s previous record high of 55,634 new cases.

The state also reported a new one-day high for new hospitalizations for COVID-19.

Thursday was the deadliest day yet for Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Florida Department of Health's Thursday report showed 120 coronavirus-related deaths in 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 4,009. The previous daily high was 83 deaths, recorded April 28.

According to the Florida Department of Health's Monday report, almost half of the statewide deaths were in the Tampa Bay area.

Of the 22 deaths in the region, eight were in Hillsborough County and nine were in Manatee County; daily high numbers for each county since the pandemic began.

According to the Florida Department of Health's daily report, the Tampa Bay area recorded its highest daily increase in deaths Tuesday.

The state's report noted 58 deaths in the 24 hour reporting period, bringing the statewide total to 3,505.
