The parents of some victims of the Florida high school massacre protested Monday outside a furniture company whose CEO's support, they say, has helped prevent the firing of the local school superintendent.

Three victims' parents from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High and about 50 supporters held up signs calling for a boycott of  the company City Furniture because CEO Keith Koenig supports Broward Superintendent Robert Runcie, whom they have been unsuccessfully pushing the school board to fire.

A Florida school district is suspending its investigation into a school massacre, saying it conflicts with a state inquiry.

Broward County schools Superintendent Robert Runcie on Wednesday showed off a new system of fences and locked doors at Miramar High School — an example of the "single point of entry" standard that will eventually be in place at all schools in the county.

Here's how it works: During arrival and dismissal times on school days, there will be three or four doors students can use to enter or exit. But during school hours, several fences will funnel visitors to only one entrance. The door will be locked, and there will be police or security staff posted there.

Survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting and their families filed on Wednesday a federal civil rights lawsuit against Broward County, public officials and Broward County Public Schools employees.
