Florida Matters recently moderated a panel discussion at the St. Petersburg Conference on World Affairs called "Arts Mecca: International Cultural Tourism in the Sunshine City." We talked with experts about how to draw culture-lovers from around the world to the Tampa Bay area.

This week on Florida Matters we'll hear highlights from that conversation.

Our guests include:

Michael Francis, Music Director of the Florida Orchestra

Kristen Shepherd, Director of the Museum of Fine Arts

Susana Weymouth, Executive Director of Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts

Leroy Bridges, Media and Interactive Director at Visit St. Pete/Clearwater

What are your favorite cultural destinations in the Tampa Bay area? Share your thoughts with us on Facebook, on Twitter or email FloridaMatters@wusf.org.

I cover health care for WUSF and the statewide journalism collaborative Health News Florida. I’m passionate about highlighting community efforts to improve the quality of care in our state and make it more accessible to all Floridians. I’m also committed to holding those in power accountable when they fail to prioritize the health needs of the people they serve.
