The University of South Florida is asking students, alumni, faculty and staff for their feelings about an on-campus football stadium.
An online survey was sent this week to about 170,000 members of the USF community -- including season ticket holders and Bulls Club members -- to gauge their current interest in the football team and if it would increase if the Bulls played on the Tampa campus.
It asks a variety of questions, ranging from how many games the respondent currently attends to what kind of amenities they'd most like to see in a new stadium to how much they might pay for tickets in a variety of locations.
Deputy Athletics Director for External Operations Scott Kull encouraged people who received the survey to fill it out, saying their feedback is vital.
"I think it's really important for us just to have that information to complete the feasibility study on whether or not we're going to eventually move forward with an on-campus stadium," Kull said.
And he wants them to reply, no matter how they feel about the subject.
"Just fill it out, you know, whether they're on the fence, committed, not committed, I mean we really just, we need that information to make the right decision," Kull said.
Data from the survey will be complied this spring, and the feasibility study is expected to be completed later this year.
The proposed stadium would seat around 40,000 fans, with the potential to expand it to 50,000.
USF has identified two sites on the south end of the Tampa campus where a stadium could be built. University officials also project construction costs at approximately $200 million.
In 2017, USF signed a six-year lease agreement to keep playing football games in Raymond James Stadium.
The aurvey also asks if respondents know about the USF Football Center, a $40 million indoor training facility planned to be built on the Tampa campus. Athletic Director Mark Harlan said in an interview during this past weekend's spring football game that $9 million has been raised so far.
