Florida Governor Rick Scott is unveiling his plans for environmental spending ahead of the 2018 lawmaking session.

Governor Scott’s budget proposal would send $1.7 billion to the Department of Environmental Protection.  The biggest ticket items are $355 million for the Everglades and $100 million for beaches.

Scott’s proposing $50 million for Florida Forever—right in line with the department’s September request for the popular land buying program.  His proposal would also set aside $55 million for springs and another $50 million for state parks.
