The Washington Post is reporting that George Zimmerman will be charged in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
The newspaper cites an unidentified law enforcement source close to the investigation.
The special prosecutor, Angela Corey, said Tuesday night she would make an announcement about charges within 72 hours.
She recently dismissed a grand jury looking into the shooting. But she said she could bring charges without the jury's help.
On Tuesday, Zimmerman's lawyers said they were withdrawing from the case. They said they had lost contact with Zimmerman.
They also said Zimmerman had spoken with the special prosecutor and with Fox News's Sean Hannity against their advice.
Fox News says charges will be announced at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
