As Robin Sussingham reports in Reececliff's Pies A Lakeland Tradition, Reececliff Family Diner in Lakeland has been turning out its award winning pies since the 1930s, and lots of families rely on them every year for their Thanksgiving dessert. The restaurant has been operating in the Dixieland neighborhood since 1934.
Chef Mabel Guzman, featured in Can Chefs Aid Fight Against Disease? by Lottie Watts, continues to lead cooking demonstrations at the Humana Guidance Center in Kissimmee. The center in Zephyrhills will have classes with Chef Jennifer Wead, the owner of Rose Café and Catering in Zephyrhills. The next class is Dec. 9 at 12 p.m.
