Hands Along The Water Asks Residents To Show Support For Clean Water
As much of Florida battles water quality issues caused by toxic algae or red tide, a statewide event to highlight the issue is scheduled for Sunday.
Hands Along The Water was organized by Samantha Gentrup, a teacher who lives in Venice, Florida.
“We have power in numbers and when we come together, there is no limit to what we can achieve," said Gentrup. "So we want our elected officials to pay attention to us and see how much we love our state."
Participants will gather at 10:00 Sunday morning at beaches statewide, including locations in Pinellas, Sarasota, Hernando and Charlotte counties.
