Tornado Causes Minor Damage in Oldsmar

A tornado that appeared first as a waterspout before coming on shore north of the Howard Frankland Bridge quickly dissipated, but not before causing minor damage to a pair of homes in Oldsmar.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, around 6:30 Monday evening, deputies observed a waterspout making its way onto shore in the 400 block of Shore Drive in Oldsmar, where it caused damage to the shingles on a home. It also reportedly knocked down branches, a tree, a mailbox and a guide wire between that home and the one next to it. A transformer was also blown out.

No injuries were reported. The National Weather Service later confirmed that it was a tornado.
