OLLI-USF Free Friday Lecture: The Lure and Magic of Movie Musicals

You are invited to attend The Lure and Magic of Movie Musicals, an OLLI-USF Free Friday Lecture on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Movie musicals’ heyday during the 1930s, 40s and 50s showcased such composers as George and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter along with dancers Fred Astaire, Eleanor Powell and Donald O’Connor. Explore the immense popularity of this film genre during the Depression and war years and learn about the language of dance in film. Join Beth Davey, a retired healthcare marketing communications professional, for this riveting retrospective of film’s most joyous expression.

Space is limited. To register for this event or any of our Free Friday Lectures, go to olliusf.org/wusf and click on “Friday Lecture Series.”
