OLLI-USF Free Friday Lecture: Kitschy Cartography--Illustrated and Pictorial Maps of Florida

You are invited to attend Kitschy Cartography--Illustrated and Pictorial Maps of Florida, an OLLI-USF Free Friday Lecture on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. This is a virtual event on Zoom.

Maps aren’t just about geography. As Rodney Kite-Powell, Director of The Tampa Bay History Center’s Touchton Map Library, reminds us, they also convey a broader idea of what to expect as you explore the areas featured on that map. In Kitschy Cartography, on exhibit now through April 2, 2023, visitors will see views of Florida and its cities through the eyes of artists who populate their maps with colorful characters that symbolize the history, industries, and people of the state.

Space is limited. To register for this event or any of our Free Friday Lectures, go to olliusf.org/wusf and click on “Friday Lecture Series.”

Once you register for this event, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Zoom session.
