If you're looking to buy your first home, search no further than right here in the Tampa Bay area.
Real estate website, Zillow, recently ranked Tampa as the number one market for first-time home buyers.
According to Michelle Bauer, Chief Marketing Officer of Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, one of the characteristics that makes the area unique is the amount of variety available to home shoppers.
“If you work in downtown Tampa, you can choose such a diversity of housing options within a thirty minute drive or less. If you want horses and chickens in your backyard, then you can live in Plant City. If you want to live in an urban environment that’s up-and-coming, then you can live in Tampa Heights,” said Bauer.
There are also a substantial amount of jobs available, specifically in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, fields.
“It’s a city on the rise, there is so much happening here. Young people feel like they can get in on the ground floor of the action and make a difference in the community,” Bauer explained.
Zillow’s top five also includes Indianapolis, Houston, Orlando, and San Antonio.
