The Florida Cabinet is saying farewell to Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, who is resigning his post early next month to work as the new Vice President of strategic initiatives andCFO for Florida Atlantic University.

At Atwater’s last Cabinet meeting Tuesday, Governor Rick Scott told the CFO he’d miss him.

“I’ve really enjoyed working with you and getting to know your family,” he said. “And, I just want to congratulate you in this new position. So, we’re going to miss you a lot.”

And, Attorney General Pam Bondi had similar words.

“Today is truly bittersweet. We’ll miss you, and you’ve been just a joy. We all started together, and the band is breaking up,” she said to laughter.”

And, along with his remarks, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam gifted Atwater with some of his “Fresh from Florida” orange juice to share at his FAU meetings.
