The official start to the Hurricane Season may be months away, but Panhandle health officials want area residents to start preparing early.

This year’s Atlantic Hurricane season is slated to start June 1 st.

But, according to the twitter account of the Emerald Coast’s health officials, they encourage people to start preparing a plan now.

That includes figuring out where you or your family needs to go, if necessary, developing a pet plan, and looking into special needs shelters, if need be.
