City Near Arctic Circle Woos Data Storage Industry

And our last word in business today is: cool marketing. The Swedish city of Lulea has been selling itself internationally as a good place to do business. The city is located right by the Arctic Circle. It has long, cold winters, with temperatures often below freezing. Summers barely get hot. Naturally, city officials targeted the data storage industry. Data storage requires giant warehouses that are kept cool, so all those computer servers inside don't overheat. Lulea's strategy has paid off. City officials just announced that Facebook has chosen the city as the site for three massive new storage centers to serve its European users.
