New Fuel Economy Standards and the Gas Crunch

The Bush administration has proposed modestly higher fuel economy standards for pick-up trucks, sport utility vehicles and minivans. The plan would require the auto industry to raise standards starting in 2008 and to be completed by 2011. Left out of the standards: the largest SUVs, and cars.P>
