Bush Taps Negroponte As Intelligence Chief

President Bush appointed John Negroponte as the nation's first intelligence director on Thursday. The current U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Negroponte will oversee 15 intelligence agencies if confirmed to the post. NPR's Madeleine Brand speaks with NPR's Mary Louise Kelly about the announcement.
