The trip to Tampa didn't get off to the best start for some travelers on Long Island this morning, as their Southwest Airlines jet slid off the runway at MacArthur Airport in Islip, NY.

A Southwest Airlines flight bound for Tampa from Long Island was delayed Thursday morning when the plane veered off the runway while taxiing. Fox 5 in New York reported Southwest Flight 4695, bound for Tampa out of MacArthur Airport in Islip, N.Y., went into the grass after the pilot miscalculated a turn.
