State Workers Must Keep Paying 3% for Pension

The Florida Supreme Court has ruled 4-3 to uphold a law requiring public employees to contribute 3 percent of their pay to the state's pension plan. The decision, which is seen as vindication for Gov. Rick Scott and the Republican-controlled Legislature, reverses an earlier judge's ruling that the move violated the collective bargaining and contract rights of about 600,000 teachers, state and county employees.
