The Florida Senate on Monday sent to Gov. Rick Scott the remaining 24 Senate bills passed during the 2017 session, including a major higher-education package and legislation to revamp part of the “stand your ground” self-defense law.
Florida lawmakers are approving a measure giving state workers a raise in exchange for revamping benefit plans. The proposal passed alongside the state budget on the final day of Florida’s legislative session.
State workers will be in line for pay raises, although the plan is coupled with major changes in the state pension fund and employee health insurance, under a bill approved Monday by the Senate Appropriations Committee.
