The subject of illegal immigration is never far from the front burner of politics, especially in the wake of President Trump's recent decision to look at rescinding DACA. That could revoke the legal status of children brought illegally into the country.

Helena Pivarnik believes she’s alive today only because of the health care coverage she got through the Affordable Care Act. She’s a cancer survivor. Without coverage, she couldn’t afford chemotherapy.

It’s one of the reasons she’s one of approximately 50 South Florida residents who were protesting outside U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s office in Doral under the blazing sun on Wednesday. Rubio is one of 50 votes needed to pass the Senate’s Better Care Reconciliation Act, the GOP’s answer to 'repeal and replace’ the Affordable Care Act.

President Obama's decision to open the U.S. market to Cuban cigars could impact Tampa. Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio toured the city's sole remaining cigar manufacturer, J.C. Newman Cigar Co., and he has more than the island nation in his sights.

He also took aim at new U.S. regulations. Those include government approval of new cigar blends and requiring larger warning labels on cigar boxes. Rubio says that's something the Cubans won't have to do.

How it would enshrine Obamacare forever. He said despite all the talk about Donald Trump's comments about women, there is a great hunger out there for change.

There were lots of times during the recent presidential debates where Marco Rubio was taken to task for missing more than his share of votes in the Senate. Senator Marco Rubio supporters celebrated the incumbent’s victory in the G-O-P primary race for his current seat. During a watch party tonight in Kissimmee Rubio thanked voters for getting his one step closer to a return to Washington.

Longtime supporter Carlos Cabrera said Rubio is the only candidate for the seat.

“He is very important in the Senate because if we lose the Senate, the country is going to be controlled by Supreme Court justices that are going to issue laws of their own for a generation,” said Cabrera.

Former Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio said he stands by comments he made during the bruising GOP primary campaign earlier this year, including referring to Donald Trump, now his party's nominee, as a "con man."
